Why do you want to be more like a snail?

We often hear about “Snail Mail” and associate it with something negative. But I think about how excited I am when I receive a card in my mailbox, not on the computer. I also thought about “At a Snail’s Pace” and found this fellow on my walk today. It reminds me of the conscious effort I make to slow down and enjoy life. As a single mom working multiple jobs for years, I didn’t have that luxury. So what happens when we slow down? Slowing down will make you more aware of your surroundings and really see where you are and what is there. You will be more mindful and experience increasing moments of peace and bliss. You will inspire others and influence your environment with your calmness. You will think more clearly and act accordingly. Blood pressure lowers, your muscles relax, you sleep better, and you breathe more. In the end, you will be even more productive and feel happier. So today, and every day you can, be more like a snail.
